International distinction for the Professor of NTUA Sofia Lambropoulou

Within the framework of the "8th European Congress of Mathematics" held from 20 to 26 June 2021 in Portorož, Slovenia, the international exhibition «Women in Mathematics throughout Europe» was launched, bringing into light the need for the development of modern forms of interaction in mathematics in Europe. The exhibition also aimed at creating an environment of encouragement for young women mathematicians as well as a solid base for them.

The Professor of the School of Applied Mathematics and Physical Sciences (S.A.M.P.S.) of NTUA Sofia Lambropoulou was chosen to be one of the six representatives of women mathematicians from European Mediterranean countries included in the exhibition. Prof. Lambropoulou's distinction highlights the scientific work carried out in Mathematics both in Greece and especially in NTUA.
