In the entire broad spectrum of environmental sciences &
engineering, and in the supporting peripheral domains of
GIS, InfoSociety and space technologies; Management of EC
and international projects; Has authored 600+ publications
in scientific journals, proceedings and white papers, and is
on the editorial board of several scientific journals &
organizations; He is fluent in Greek, English, German,
French, and knowledgeable in Italian and Flemish.

Prior to joining the NTUA and EPSILON, he was for 15 years
with Arthur D. Little Inc, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA
(1976-87); and with Rhein-Main-Donau AG, Munich, Germany
(1972-73).
Experience: Mathematical modelling in envirosystems (air, soil, water,
ecosystems, health, all media), sustainable environmental
management, environmental economics, earth surveying
technologies, sustainability indicators, sustainable
consumption production, statistics, law-directives and
other. The above combined with geomatics, GIS, remote
sensing, space and InfoSociety technologies, and the use of
the internet geospatial portal processing and dissemination.
Has managed 60+ major EC/RTD EPSILON projects, has lead and
guided 150+ major state-of-technology projects, has
supervised 40+ major academic research projects, and has
supervised 40+ academic theses next to his day-to-day RTD,
teaching, and administrative assignments.
Mrs Despina Kallidromitou Expertise: Civil-, water-,
environmental-, systems- engineering, project management &
economics, international projects & EC contracts. Since 1991
she has frequently served the EC as an Expert in a series of
short-term missions linked to water resources, environment
and GIS projects in Europe and internationally; fluent in
Greek, English, German, and Spanish.
Academics: Civil Engineering Vordiplom, Bochum Technical University (1982); Civil-Hydraulic Engineering Degree, National Technical University of Athens (Dipl.-Ing., 1985); Systems engineering postgraduate studies, University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, USA (1987); Optimisation & Decision Support Systems in Civil Engineering, Herriot Watt University Edinburgh, UK (1989); MBA, National Technical University Athens (2007); ISO 9000/14001 TUV Auditor. Experience: She has managed more
than 200 major national and international projects on
hydraulics, water resources, environment, mathematical
environmental modelling, sustainable environmental
management, environmental economics, decision making
systems, remote sensing & GIS, as: The hydraulics &
environmental engineering design for the Canoe Slalom
Olympic Games 2004 project, and the GIS navigation & data
application contract for the C4I Athens Security project of
the Athens Olympic Games 2004. She has authored 100+
scientific publications in water resources, environment and
GIS technologies.
Mrs Eugenia Leivadarou Expertise: Environmental Sciences,
Mathematical Environmental Modelling, Systems Engineering &
Mathematics, coastal engineering, risk management, operational
resarch, quality management systems ISO9000 certified by TUV, environmental
